Journal Soup

I recently bought Kate Crane's Journal Soup part Deux and it was just the right thing to give me a creative kick! I've ordered some new paints because as much as I love my gelatos they just don't cut it for styles like this....see the mess below! For now I'm going to put them into a box but they will probably make it onto a card in the end!

Take a cheap bag from Penny's...and make it awesome!

Got this bag for €11 in Penny's, very 80's but very boring and not going to go with my dress that night so I decided to bling it up a bit!

I bought two hair flowers that were selling for 50c, bottle cap embellishment, chain is the long handle that came with the bag and stamped all over with stazon. I Luuuuuuuurvvve it, not very big though so enough for my phone and a lip gloss. Might make me show some restraint when I go out!

Has it really been 5 months since I blogged?

Slap on the wrist, I have been crafting but with a sick computer I found it hard to get onto my blog and wasn't really sure if anyone was out there and I was just talking to myself!
My sister got married so while waiting for her photos to develop it inspired me to re-do my own wedding album. I made the fatal flaw as a crafter that I made my wedding album my ...very..first...project. So you can only imagine, I would burn it if I didn't like to laugh at it so much!
 I bought a cheapo toaster for €11 in Tesco and the box screamed "Turn me into a mini albummmmm"

I started the cover of my sisters album who wants it clean but bitty but no gammy words or sentiments, like blending colours like above and want the page piled high with embellishments. Amy I love you but this is going to be a mammoth task. I might have it done for your ruby anniversary! So I will be posting the progress for the next 10 years or so, stay tuned

Still on my journal drive

After watching a Kathyrn Wheel video I was very inspired to create more in depth back grounds, the start of a new journal is also very daunting and I tend to panic!

Still working on the background here and didn't put as much effort into my lady and I feel you can really tell, but I love the back ground!

Suzi Blu inspired art journal pages

I got a Suzi Blu book for my birthday and I have to say I am loving the girls I am drawing with them!

Coloured with my new gelatos which I am so in love with it's ridiculous!

I did this while drinking a bottle of wine with my sister for my birthday, crafting and drinking what could go wrong! I gave her huge boobies and decided that rough texture paste piled on her head for hair would be a good idea... all in good fun though :) 

Some Elephant Mama cards

I saw this stamp set and fell in love with it, I don't know why considering it's not my style! I stamped a load and coloured them in with my distress markers, made a few thank you cards and birthday cards for the influx of birthdays this month (6!!)

Did I ever tell you how much I hate spiral bound journals?

They are riculous!! They get in the way and look ugly, my next journal with my spineless and inspire me but now this thing needs to be hidden!

I saw this quote and thought it was gorgeous - Write your secrets in the sand and keep it safe with the mermaids. In RL the colours are very vibrant and her tail is so sparkly!

I got some gelatoooooossss and been having fun all night with them! Need some inspiration for them now :)

Zombie Pin-up valentines card

I saw a great idea on pinterest where pinups were zombified, keeping with tradition I made a zombie valentines for D. Coloured in with my distress markers and used my label maker for the title. Hope he likes it because I'm not buying him anything!

Cute christmas photo I took of Eli and had a blank space in the wall so I covered an old canvas and gave it a new lease of life!

Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none as Shakespear said. I needed some messy play and this hit the criteria perfectly :) need to highlight the words more but that's for another day!

A christmas wreath explosion

Start off with a plain polysytrene ring

Intertwine a length of tinsel

Add two more!

Hot glue old balls onto it *tip stick the balls to the ring not the tinsel

Dr Who Halloween

 As all self confessed Dr Who Nerds we all co-ordinated our Halloween costumes as Dr 10 and 11, the tardis and the weeping angel. It was a wet night here in Ireland and the street party we were going to was cancelled which means no one was dressed up when we went out, it's not like I could hide 3 1/2 foot wings!

A colony of bats

I was crafting with Trail of Destruction and had some left over black paper so decided to cut a few bats out after seeing it done on pinterest. I love it so much I don't think it's coming down, because just the centre of the bat is stuck to the wall the wings move and it makes them look like they are flying!

Spoooooky Halloween decoration

Well you hardly thought I was going to say Christmas decoration. The final week is upon us now and the last minute dash to costumes is being made as well as complete changes (a little 3 year old with KISS makeup, too fricking  cute!) I bought this die off Felicia http://scrapzville.blogspot.ie/ when I met her in Athlone this month and was waiting until I got some time to do it. It happened I was passing my desk and it lured me in like a siren calling. Before I knew it I was wrist deep in black paint and wondering what had happened. The delicate little gate kept falling over,  Eli kept pulling off the gates so I had to hot glue it to some grey board and covered it with some cardboard shavings, sprayed a bit and stuck down with PVA. I love the hand sticking out of the garden and the minute hand on the fimo clock is... a hand. Cracks me up :)

Love the difference in them, one in Halloween inspired and the other not yet finished is colourful and retro with Amy Tangerine papers I got in TK Maxx

Some DIY christmas makes- altered mini drawers and altered matchboxes

 This originally was pink and hideous I painted it with a paint dauber and stamped with a prima word stamp to create texture. 

 Altered matchbox in the first drawer, personal joke with my sister when we used to see someone he was a ride so I made a handsome skeleton suitor for her, shrink plasticed a bike and added what a ride to the outside

Chillingworth Manor Halloween Album 2013

In Athlone recently I saw an album made with this paper pack and knew it would be perfect for the Halloween album I wanted to make. Using the Stack the deck method I bound black paper and made each page like an envelope so I could put paper mat's in between each. Lots of glossy accents and glitter... and that was just on my face and Eli's hands... *note to oneself- find out what to do with grunge paper
